Digital visiting card for advocates

Share your chamber address, timings and contact details on one link. Clients save your number in one tap and find your chamber without calling for directions — and you keep the card factual, with nothing that reads like an advertisement.

In short

A digital visiting card for an advocate is a one-page mobile profile with factual details: your name, enrolment number and State Bar Council, chamber address, phone, email, areas of practice and languages. Clients open it from a link or QR code without an app, save your number in one tap and get directions to your chamber.

Why do advocates use a digital visiting card?

A client meets you once at court, takes your paper card and loses it before the next date. A week later the family is asking around for "the advocate whose chamber is somewhere near the back gate". Many of the calls a chamber gets are about the same few things: the number, the address, the timings.

A lawyer digital visiting card puts those on one mobile page at your own link, such as cardlinkr.com/your-name, with its own QR code. Clients open it in any phone browser, without installing an app, and can:

  • save your contact in one tap — name, mobile, email and chamber address go straight into their phonebook;
  • find the chamber — the Directions button opens the map, and you can add the block, floor and chamber number that a map pin cannot show;
  • check your timings — the days and hours you meet clients at the chamber;
  • call, WhatsApp or email you, or request an appointment.

When you move chambers or change your number, edit the card from your dashboard. The link and QR code stay the same, so every client who saved it still reaches you.

What should an advocate's digital visiting card include?

Keep your advocate visiting card online to the facts a client needs to identify and reach you. Start from the Lawyer template and add:

  • Name as it appears on the roll, with "Advocate".
  • Enrolment number and State Bar Council, exactly as on your enrolment certificate.
  • Qualifications — LL.B., LL.M. and other degrees, stated plainly.
  • Chamber and office address — court complex, block, floor and chamber number, plus your office address if you meet clients there. Add a map location for each.
  • Phone, WhatsApp and email — if a clerk or junior handles calls about dates, say which number to use for what.
  • Areas of practice in plain words: civil and property matters, criminal matters, family and matrimonial matters, consumer complaints, service matters, taxation. You can also state the court or city where you practise.
  • Languages — for example Hindi, English and Urdu. The card itself can be written in Hindi, English or both.
  • Chamber timings — set your hours for each day, for example 5 pm to 8 pm, Monday to Saturday, and add a line saying that you are in court during court hours.

Leave the photo formal or leave it out. A gallery photo of the chamber entrance can help first-time clients find you; anything that promotes your cases does not belong on the card.

What do the Bar Council of India rules mean for your card?

The Bar Council of India rules do not allow advocates to advertise or solicit work, directly or indirectly. A card that carries factual information — name, address, contact details, enrolment number and areas of practice — is the safe approach. Leave out:

  • client testimonials, reviews and thank-you messages;
  • "best lawyer", "top advocate", "No. 1", "expert" or any similar claim;
  • win rates, numbers of cases won, well-known clients or matters you have handled;
  • fees, fee comparisons, discounts and "free consultation" offers;
  • promises about outcomes, such as "guaranteed bail" or "quick divorce";
  • photos, press clippings or videos that promote your work.

Treat the card as a digital version of the factual visiting card you hand to someone who asks for your details — not as a way to reach new people.

This is not legal advice. Check the current Bar Council of India rules on the Bar Council of India website and any guidance from your State Bar Council before you publish or share your card.

How do you set up and share the card so it stays factual?

  • Switch off the testimonials section. Do not add testimonials, and turn the section off in your card's section settings so it stays hidden.
  • Use services only for areas of practice. Do not add products, prices or a store.
  • Think twice about the business directory. Listing in the CardLinkr business directory is optional. A directory listing can look like advertising, so the cautious choice is to leave your card out of it.
  • Consider password protection. On every plan except Starter you can protect the card with a password and give it to clients along with the link, so only they can open it.
  • Hide CardLinkr branding (every plan except Starter) if you want a plain, formal card.
  • Share only with people who ask. Send the link to existing clients, to people who ask for your contact details and to colleagues — not to WhatsApp groups, broadcast lists or social media posts meant to bring in work.
  • Introduce the link. WhatsApp link previews do not always show your name, so send a line first: "Adv. [your name], chamber details:" followed by the link.
  • Print the QR on the back of your paper card, so the card you hand over leads to your current address and timings.

How do clients request an appointment?

You cannot take calls in the middle of a hearing, and clients do not know when you are free. Set your chamber working hours and slots on the card; clients pick a slot within those hours instead of calling during court time.

  • Open slots only for chamber hours, not court hours.
  • If you will be out of station, change your slots before you leave and change them back when you return. The link stays the same.
  • Add a line to your card's description: "Please bring all papers related to your matter to the meeting."

Clients can also send an enquiry, and every enquiry is saved in your dashboard. In your card's description, ask people to send only their name, phone number and a one-line subject through the enquiry form — not case details or documents. Confidential facts are better discussed at the meeting.

What does it cost?

Every new account starts with a 30-day free trial with Pro features and no payment details. After that, plans start at ₹999 a year or ₹249 a month, or ₹4,999 once for Lifetime.

  • Starter covers a factual card: contact details, services for areas of practice, appointments, the enquiry form and every template.
  • Pro adds password protection, hiding CardLinkr branding and custom QR code design.
  • The Business plan, with three cards and your own domain, suits a chamber with juniors or associates. For five or more people, ask us about team cards.

Pay online by UPI, debit or credit card or net banking; when you upgrade, the unused part of your current plan is counted. Compare plans on the pricing page, browse the templates, or read what a digital visiting card is if you are new to the idea.

Frequently asked questions

Is a digital visiting card allowed for advocates?

This is not legal advice, so check the current Bar Council of India rules and your State Bar Council. In general, the safe approach is to use the card to share factual contact details with people who ask for them, and not to use it to advertise or solicit work.

Can I add client reviews or testimonials?

No. Testimonials can read as advertising, so switch off the testimonials section and keep the card to factual details.

Can I share my card in WhatsApp groups or on social media?

It is safer not to. Send the link to existing clients and to people who ask for your contact details. Posting it to groups or strangers can look like soliciting work.

Can I make my card private?

Yes. Password protection is available on every plan except Starter. Give the password to your clients along with the link.

Do clients need an app to open my card?

No. The card opens in any phone browser from your link or QR code, and clients can save your number in one tap.

Can I write my card in Hindi?

Yes. You can write your card in Hindi, English or both, and list the languages you work in.
